Now honestly, I only wanted a nice grandma ride just for bragging rights…but this car was having none of that! As soon as I sat in the car the seat hugged me and wouldn’t let go. The rumble of the engine was so strong that I felt like I was in a Jet Plane or a small rocket. It was a solid machine that demanded my attention! I had so many questions for Rob, but the car wouldn’t let me talk. It sped up to 125 mph in a blink of an eye. My heart was racing, my toes were tingling,…I was in pure shock and awe of the speed and beauty of this magnificant beast!

As we slowed for a u-turn, I caught my breath and tried to recompose myself so I could ask him how someone like me could afford this car, but alas I was forced back into my seat as we took some nice lines on a twisty road at high speeds. Again, I felt as if I were on a high performance luxury roller coaster. My heart was racing again and this time I had goose bumps crawling up my spine. At this point, all I knew is that I had to have one of these finely tuned machines!

A few seconds went by, I was speech less. Rob started talking about some sort of double auto clutch something or other and started shifting up and down single then double at a rapid rate,…the car was seamless, smooth, you wouldn’t know it was shifting unless he you were doing it yourself.

We turned a corner and I saw the end of my ride quickly approaching, so I had no time to lose. I finally spit it out, “Rob, how can someone like me afford this car?” He said, “…find a niche and a product that only you can provide…”. He told his story (as he turned away from our finish line) to tell me about how he struggled with the colors in the resin for his product and how the other dentists in his practice didn’t want the hassle of dealing with kids. Rob had solved everyone’s problems…he took away all the ‘problem’ customers from his colleagues and focused on how to make the customer happy. I told him that he would have been my favorite Dentist when I was a child. I had so many cavities that I would have smiled a rainbow for all to see!

But really, is it really that simple? I am pondering the idea of what I can do. Where is my niche? What is my product?

Buying my own Veyron is not the point. Having the ability to buy one is. Thank you Rob for sharing your car and experience with me for 60 seconds of your life!

Obviously if I didn’t enjoy the thrill of the ride I would not be doing this, but sometimes I seriously wonder. I’ve had renters turn in keys, renters not pay rent, houses flooding, offers to low on my houses, partners going crazy, double booked appts, missed appts, computer crashes, title companies lose paperwork, funds not show at closing, contractors calling in sick…need I say more?

We are close to finishing 12 houses and getting them finished and listed I can taste it. It’s a wild ride knowing that there are last minute house shoppers looking for their 8k tax credit while I’m trying to get all mine on the market for them to buy. Funding is sooooo tight that we may have to list without being 100% done with the flip. Hopefully that doesn’t prevent us from getting a contract.

I hope there are folks out there having as much fun as we are! I tell ya, when we are up…we are flying high and doing great. But when we are down…it’s tough to keep things moving. I’m glad I have a great team, I don’t know how I could keep my sanity without them…

During the night we had interior paint and tile work getting done. The kitchen, dining and entryway were all tied in together.

This morning we laid out the kitchen cabinets to make sure we had everything we needed. Every now and then our vendor will mix up a piece or two, so I wanted to be sure we were good to go for Monday morning. We also finished removing the wall paper border that was started the day before.

All the outlets and switches were updated as needed. We were missing a couple GFI’s in the kitchen and baths, so that has now been fixed.

All of this is great, but I must say the best part of my day was the landscaping. First thing this morning we pulled weeds and removed a couple pesky trees, turned some soil and then planted some new bushes and flowers. The afternoon brought us a lush dark green lawn. I’m sure our neighbors love me and hate me. The house and yard is looking beautiful…I guess they need to do some work to keep up! lol
